The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) has approved the general binding declaration (avv) of the Metalektro collective agreements. The avv decrees for both the Basic CBA and the CBA for Senior Staff in the Metalektro were officially published in the Government Gazette on Thursday 24 October 2024. The universally binding declaration will take effect from Friday 25 October 2024 and will apply to the entire sector. This means that all employers in the Metalektro sector, regardless of their membership of an employers' organisation, are obliged to apply the collective agreement provisions.
This development ensures a level playing field within the industry and prevents competition on terms of employment and ensures that general terms of employment are safeguarded for the entire industry.
The declaration of universality of these collective agreements will further strengthen stability in industrial relations within the Metalektro sector, contributing to a healthy business environment and protection of workers' rights.
The new collective agreements Metalektro have a term of 19 months, from 1 June 2024 to 31 December 2025. During this period, structural wage increases have been agreed: 2.75% from 1 June 2024, 3.25% from 1 January 2025 and 3% from 1 June 2025. In total, the wage increase over the entire term comes to 9%. These increases apply to employees up to an income limit that will be adjusted during the collective agreement period.
