On 7 April, the VHP2 and the other three unions submitted a joint counter-proposal for a social plan at ASML. This social plan applies in particular to those situations where forced redundancies are unavoidable. Of course, we remain of the opinion that forced redundancies should be avoided as much as possible. The unions' proposal can be found at here to (as yet, unfortunately, only in Dutch). It has become quite a list in which, of course, we have included the many inputs from our members.

Some of the key proposals:

  • Severance pay: 2 monthly salaries per year of service worked with a minimum of 12 monthly salaries. For employees aged 55 and over an additional compensation of 6 monthly salaries
  • The inclusion of a voluntary departure scheme/place-making scheme
  • Letting a non-competition/relationship clause lapse on termination of employment
  • Compensating the employee in case of pension damage
  • Ability to refuse a suitable position twice with impunity

It was agreed that ASML would respond substantively on 13 April.
