The announced strikes against the cabinet's cuts to social security enjoy widespread support. Research by EenVandaag among some 25,000 members of its Opinion Panel shows that 71% of respondents support the actions.
The plans surrounding the state pension and the reduction of WIA benefits, in particular, are encountering a lot of resistance. Interestingly, there is also little support for the cuts within the supporters of coalition parties.
