Main results of collective bargaining negotiations
In addition to agreements on structural salary increases, improved travel allowance and greater control over working hours, the following agreements were made in the collective agreement Metalektro Senior Staff 2024-2025:
- Generation pact: Older workers can work shorter hours while retaining part of their salary and full pension accrual.
- RVU scheme: Employees can stop working up to three years before the state pension age under certain conditions.
- Home working allowance: A reasonable arrangement for working from home is established.
Salary
These are the agreements in the current collective agreement:
- All employees will get a salary increase of 2.75% from June 1, 2024.
- A salary increase of 3.25% will follow on 1 January 2025.
- From June 1, 2025, employees will get a structural salary increase of 3%.
Salary scales
The Metalektro sector has different salary scales and steps. Every job has a job rating with corresponding salary scales. Work experience and job level determine the classification upon entry into service. Employees move up one step each year until the maximum of the scale is reached.
Income limit
The agreements only apply if the employee's salary and holiday allowance together are lower than a limit amount. This amount is €120,526 as of 1 June 2024 and is increased to €124,443 as of 1 January 2025 and €128,176 as of 1 June 2025.
To determine whether an employee falls below this limit amount, the gross monthly salary (without salary increases) is multiplied by 12.96. If this amount is lower than the limit amount, the employee is entitled to the salary increases.
Job evaluation
Employers can use a job classification system, such as the Integral System of Job Classification (ISF) from the Basic Collective Agreement, for job classification. If the employer wants to introduce or change another system, permission from the employers' organisation and trade unions is required. When using ISF, the employer must follow the rules in the Basic CBA, with specific group limits for senior staff.
