New CBA at NXP: Major improvements for employees
After an intensive negotiation period, VHP2 and the other unions reached a negotiation result with NXP on 12 April last at 01:05 am on a new collective agreement. Agreements were also reached on extension and adjustment of the Social Plan.
Key points of the collective agreement reached are:
Duration: 26 months, from 1 November 2023 to 31 December 2025
Salary increase:
- 5% by 1 May 2024 (with a minimum of €2,100 on a full-time basis)
- 2.75% with effect from 1 March 2025. Salary scales will also be increased as per these dates.
- One-off payment: 1.5% of salary with a minimum of €1,000 in May 2024
- 1 additional non-statutory holiday as of 1 January 2025
Generation pact for shift workers increased to 80-90-100
Extending bereavement leave, tailoring options for informal care and career rotation
Run-down of accrued accumulated accumulations of holidays

In addition, it was agreed to extend the current Social Plan until 31 December 2026. The cap on severance pay will be adjusted to 1.8 annual salaries from 1 September 2024. This means that anyone given notice until 31 August 2024 will be covered by the current Social Plan.
VHP2 is satisfied with this balanced negotiation result. It offers good improvements in these turbulent times in terms of purchasing power, work-life balance and the position of specific groups of employees. We think that, together with the other unions, we got the maximum out of it.
