As part of the Metalektro sustainable employability initiative, VHP2 is offering the meeting โautism and sustainable workโ. This evening is co-sponsored by the Autism Point.
Autismepunt is part of care cooperative Brabant and is committed to helping people with autism live as independently as possible within an inclusive society. During this meeting, Nicole and Kirstin, both coaches at Autismepunt, will share real-life stories from people with autism about their experiences in the workplace - both the positive and the challenging ones.
While there is no universal solution - because every person with autism is unique - they provide insight into what has and has not worked in practice in creating a sustainable, healthy workplace.
We reflect on questions such as:
- What does autism mean in the context of work?
- Why are some people diagnosed later in life?
- How do personality and upbringing affect the expression of autism?
- What does this require of the working environment?
Specific attention is also paid to underexposed groups such as women with autism and people with both autism and giftedness. By increasing understanding of different forms of expression and preconditions, we can contribute to sustainable employability and health in the workplace.
