The basics

Duration:
The CLA NEC Netherlands has a duration of 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2020.

Type of collective agreement:
This is a standard collective agreement, which means that the agreements cannot be changed individually without consulting the unions.

  • Employer: NEC Netherlands B.V.
  • Workers' organisations: VHP2, CNV Trade Unionists

Salary

The following salary agreements have been made within this collective agreement:

  • Salary group scales: Employees are divided into salary groups from 30 to 90. Salary is linked to job content and work experience.
  • Salary increase: There are agreements on salary increases based on annual appraisals and performance reviews. Employees receive annual salary increases as long as they can still grow within their salary scale.
  • Variable remuneration: Employees may be eligible for variable remuneration depending on business results and personal performance.
  • Holiday allowance: Employees receive annual holiday allowance of 8% of gross annual salary.

Job evaluation

The jobs within NEC Netherlands are classified into specific salary groups, ranging from group 30 to 90, based on job evaluation. This classification is determined by the job's content and responsibilities. Annual appraisals form the basis for any job changes and salary adjustments.

Training and development

Training and development are important for both the organisation and the employees of NEC Netherlands. The collective agreement contains the following provisions:

Contracts

Working hours and leave

  • Standard working hours: The standard working week at NEC Netherlands is 40 hours. Working hours are determined by mutual agreement and may vary depending on the position and department.
  • Holidays: Employees are entitled to an annual number of holidays and a supplementary personal life budget (PLB). The number of holidays depends on the length of employment and the agreed working hours.
  • Absence and care leave: The collective agreement provides opportunities for paid time off and care leave in certain situations, such as illness or caring for a family member.

Reimbursement and compensation

  • Travel reimbursement: Employees receive a commuting allowance, which is determined in consultation with the Works Council.
  • Overtime and special hours: Employees in salary groups up to and including 60 receive an allowance for working special hours and overtime. This allowance depends on the time and day worked.
  • Consignment service: For employees in salary groups up to and including 60, there is an allowance for on-call shifts, which require the employee to be available outside regular working hours.

Leave arrangements

  • Care leave: Employees can use care leave to care for sick family members.
  • Maternity and childbirth leave: The collective agreement offers extensive provisions on paid maternity and childbirth leave.
  • Mourning leave: In case of death of a close relative, the employee is entitled to bereavement leave.

Pension

The pension of employees of NEC Nederland B.V. is covered by a pension scheme facilitated by the employer. Employees accrue pension in accordance with the agreements in the collective labour agreement.

Other provisions

  • Works council: The collective agreement contains arrangements for employee participation through the Works Council. This council has a say on various terms and conditions of employment and company decisions.
