The CBA KPN applies to all employees of KPN B.V. and Getronics PinkRoccade Overheidspersoneel B.V. The CBA contains agreements on employment conditions, such as salary, working hours, leave and sustainable employability. It allows employees to make choices that fit their personal situation and ambitions. The scope of the CAO extends to employees in salary scales 1 to 13.

The basics

  • Duration: The CBA KPN runs from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025.
  • Declared universally binding (avv): KPN and the unions apply for the avv. This means the CBA will apply to all employees and employers covered by its scope.
  • Type of collective agreement: This is a standard collective agreement, which means the agreements are binding on employer and employees and cannot be adjusted downwards.

Salary

KPN employees will receive a structural salary increase in the period 2024-2025:
  • By 1 January 2024: A collective salary increase of 4.5%.
  • By 1 July 2024: An additional increase in norm salaries by 1%.
  • By 1 January 2025: A second collective salary increase of 3%.
In addition, there is a variable remuneration and there are several allowances and supplements, such as the labour market allowance and the fitting allowance. The collective agreement includes the full salary tables, which provide insight into pay for each pay scale and step.

Working hours and shifts

The standard working time within KPN has been harmonised to a full-time working week of 40 hours from 1 January 2025. The collective agreement also offers the possibility of flexible working through working independent of time and place. Employees are entitled to working time bonuses for irregular shifts and overtime.
In addition, it is annual hours system (JUS) applicable, giving employees more flexibility in their working hours.

Holidays and leave

KPN employees are entitled to holidays in accordance with the collective labour agreement, with an annual holiday allowance. From 2025, a revamped holiday leave scheme in force, including a thirteenth month.
In addition to holidays, employees can make use of various leave schemes, including:
  • Parental leave
  • Mantel care leave
  • Mourning leave

Sustainable employability

The Cao KPN bets on the sustainable deployment of employees, paying attention to both their physical and mental well-being. KPN offers facilities for training and development, allowing employees to further their personal and professional growth. There is also a strong focus on the generation policy and diversity and inclusion.

Health and safety

The collective agreement includes agreements on healthcare and insurance, including:
  • Absenteeism and continued payment of salary in case of illness
  • Group disability insurance
  • Accident insurance
  • A death benefit for relatives

Pension

Employees of KPN accrue pension through the KPN Pension Fund. The pensionable salary and the employee's own contribution are defined in the collective agreement. There are also transitional arrangements for employees covered by the older pension agreements.

Allowances and staff discounts

Employees of KPN receive various allowances, including:
  • Travel reimbursement
  • Home working allowance
  • Mission allowance
  • Jubilee gratifications for employment of 25 and 40 years
In addition, KPN offers various staff discounts on KPN services and products.
