Philips Reorganisation

Sunday evening, 23 October 2022 last, the VHP2 was informed of the major reorganisation announced by Philips on Monday.

Philips is cutting 4,000 jobs worldwide. In the Netherlands, it involves 800 jobs including 400 forced redundancies. This mainly concerns management positions.

The VHP2 is very aware of the impact these measures have on employees at Philips. The VHP2 will follow the situation very closely and monitor, in close cooperation with the workscouncil, that Philips will carefully implement this reorganisation. The VHP2 expects that the workscouncil at Philips will take the right decisions on the usefulness and necessity of this mega-reorganisation. Our members can also assume that the VHP2 will ensure that Philips not only fulfils its legal obligations but also the agreements stated on this subject in the collective labour agreement and the social plan. The current social plan still runs until the end of 2023.

In consultation with our contacts at Philips, the VHP2 will organise meeting meetings in the near future in which we will explain our role as a trade union and in which questions can be answered.
