Beste leden @ Philips,

Zondagavond zijn wij als vakorganisaties door Philips op de hoogte gesteld van de grote reorganisatie die maandag is aangekondigd door jullie CEO Roy Jakobs. Deze reorganisatie is de hele week ook volop in het nieuws geweest.

Philips schrapt wereldwijd 6000 banen, waarvan 1100 gedwongen ontslagen in Nederland. Het gaat om veel ontslagen en het gaat om een grote herstructurering. Klik hier voor het persbericht.

Wij zijn ons zeer van bewust van de impact die deze maatregelen op jullie heeft. De VHP2 zal de situatie zeer nauwlettend volgen en in nauwe samenwerking met de medezeggenschap bewaken dat Philips deze reorganisatie zorgvuldig zal doorvoeren. Wij verwachten dat de decentrale ondernemingsraden goede beslissingen zullen nemen over nut en noodzaak van deze mega-reorganisatie in de verschillende businessonderdelen. Ook kunnen jullie ervan uitgaan dat wij borgen dat werkgever haar wettelijke verplichtingen nakomt maar ook de afspraken die hierover in de cao en het sociaal plan staan. Het huidige sociaal plan loopt nog tot eind 2025.

Tijdens de Social Mixer vandaag hebben wij uitgebreid stil gestaan bij de plannen. Wat vooral naar voren kwam is dat er nog veel onduidelijk is over het nieuwe operating model en waar de ontslagen gaan vallen. Ook waren er veel vragen over het sociaal plan. Omdat er zoveel inschrijvingen waren voor deze bijeenkomst komen wij snel met een tweede Social Mixer over deze reorganisatie. De uitnodigingen daarvoor volgen in de loop van volgende week.

News letter about announced major reorganization at Philips on January 30, 2023 during Q1 presentation

Dear members @ Philips,

On Sunday evening we were informed by Philips about the major reorganization announced on Monday by your CEO Roy Jakobs. This reorganization has been in the news all week.

Philips is cutting 6000 jobs worldwide, including 1100 forced layoffs in the Netherlands. It involves a lot of layoffs and a major restructuring. Click here for the press release.

We are very aware of the impact these measures have on you. The VHP2 will follow the situation very closely and monitor, in close cooperation with the employee participation body, that Philips will carefully implement this reorganization. We expect that the decentralized works councils will make good decisions about the usefulness and necessity of this mega-reorganization in the various business units. You can also count on us to ensure that the employer fulfills its legal obligations as well as the agreements in the collective labor agreement and the social plan. The current social plan runs until the end of 2025.

During today's Social Mixer we discussed the plans in detail. What emerged above all was that there is still much uncertainty about the new operating model and where the redundancies will take place. There were also many questions about the social plan. Because there were so many registrations for this meeting, we will soon organize a second Social Mixer about this reorganization. Invitations will follow in the course of next week.
